Thirty years in the ground around Nottingham.

Kelstow started in 1996 with two men, a digger and a van, laying drains for local builders. Today we employ 140 people and run more than 70 machines, working for housebuilders, main contractors and councils across the East Midlands.

We still work the way we started: our own people on our own plant, a director on every job, and a site handed over clean for the next trade.

How we work

The same standards on every site, whoever the client.

  • Two groundworkers in hi-vis checking a trench beside an excavator

    Safety on every site

A briefing every morning, a permit for every dig, and a safety lead who visits every site each week.

  • A young site engineer setting up a total station

    Training our own

Apprentices on the Level 2 Groundworker apprenticeship every year, and every operator carded for the machines they drive.

  • A tracked excavator on a site, with a retaining wall behind

    Our own plant

More than 70 machines, from mini diggers to 30 tonne excavators, kept running by our own fitters.

  • A site engineer in a hard hat with a GPS rover on a busy site

    Engineers on site

Our own engineers set out every site with GPS, and check the levels as the work goes in.
